The BBC has announced plans to continue its commemorations of the First World War Centenary with a series of major public events this summer. Lives of the First World War will be a major part of these events.
The BBC World War One At Home Tour will visit county shows, summer festivals, air shows and bustling shopping centres the length and breadth of the UK. The events will reflect on the impact the war had on families and communities, as well as helping people to explore their own relatives’ links to the war.
Visitors will have the opportunity to use Lives of the First World War to see how they can discover, remember and share their First World War connections with the rest of the world. Visitors will also have the opportunity to use the platform to help build the permanent digital memorial to over 8 million men and women who served on the home and fighting fronts.
