Starting this Sunday New ITV series The Great War: The People’s Story will tell the First World War experiences of ordinary people in their own words. Find out how you can use Lives of the First World War to learn more about the incredible life stories featured in the series.
The Great War: The People’s Story
Marking the centenary of the outbreak of the war in 1914, the experiences of men and women – young and old, from across Britain and different social classes – will be explored in a four part series, The Great War: The People’s Story. Episode 1 will air on ITV this Sunday at 9pm.mens air max 90
With narration from Olivia Colman, The Great War: The People’s Story tells the real-life stories of soldiers and their wives and girlfriends on the home front, selected in partnership with Imperial War Museums, which provided much of the material. They are portrayed by a cast of actors including Alison Steadman, Brian Cox, Romola Garai, and Matthew McNulty, who speak their words as they were written in their diaries and letters.

Many of the life stories featured in the series will feature on Lives of the First World War. Throughout each episode we’ll be live sharing the links to life stories featured on social media, so that you can learn more about the real-life experiences of those who served on the home and fighting fronts.
